9/28/2012 - Peterson AFB, Colo.  -- The Air Force Space Command is celebrating its 30th Anniversary! Here is a significant milestone from the command's history ...

After more than three decades on alert under North Dakota soil, the last of 150 missiles assigned to the 321st Missile Group was removed in June 1998 with the Missile Group inactivation on 30 Sep 1998.

Departure of the last Minuteman III and inactivation of the base was part of the ICBM drawdown.
