7/20/2010 - LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, El Segundo, Calif.  -- Air Force Space Command's Space and Missile Systems Center's Space Development and Test Wing at Kirtland AFB, N.M., will conduct a shipment of three SR118, SR119 and SR120 rocket boosters to support an upcoming launch from the Kodiak Launch Complex at Kodiak Island, Alaska. The three motors will be moved in two shipments starting in late July 2010.

This shipment involves the relocation of solid rocket motors from Hill AFB, Utah, to Indian Island Naval Magazine, Wash. for transfer to a shipping barge and subsequent delivery to KLC.

The solid rocket motors will be stored and transported in containers specifically designed for motor transportation in accordance with Department of Transportation and Defense Transportation Regulations and will be under the supervision of the Air Force and the U.S. Army's Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.

This transport operation supports the launch of Tactical Satellite 4 aboard a Minotaur IV rocket from KLC in the late fall of 2010.
